Salvo EO was established to be a full service contract designer and contract manufacturer of electro-optic (EO) components and assemblies. Internally manufactured products include optical and opto-mechanical components as well as complete photonic solutions such as fire control optics, range finders, laser designators and sensing and imaging platforms including multispectral systems. Salvo EO’s core competency is creating novel production processes to meet specifications and cost targets in and ever changing global market. Salvo EO and its competent staff provide a hands on approach early in the design phase. The organization provides designs that are manufacturable from the beginning.

Salvo EO designs and manufactures electro-optical components, assemblies and photonic solutions. The vertically integrated organization utilizes a complete optical manufacturing facility that includes optical fabrication, optical thin film coating, optical assembly and optical testing. The vertical integration allows complete control of products from cradle to grave. The in house operation is also designed for fast turn prototyping. Design projects can be completed in as little as 8 weeks. This includes optical design, manufacturing of components, assembly and testing. When appropriate off shore manufacturing can be used to meet cost targets in commercial applications although the facility is AS 9100 and ITAR registered.

The in house engineering staff focuses on efficient methods of optical design which generate solutions that not only meet specifications but also are manufactuable at cost points that make projects viable. By focusing on manufacturability on the front end the product development cycle lead time and costs are reduced. This is a direct benefit of both designing and manufacturing products in house.
